non-toxic cleaning

March is already here and now that you have decluttered (hopefully) most spaces of your home, it is time to open your windows and start spring cleaning!

When it comes to creating a low-toxin home, swapping your cleaning products is one of the most important things you can do. Sadly, the majority of the ‘natural' cleaning brands out there are “greenwashed” and they are anything but green. These companies throw catch phrases or use certain packaging to trick consumers into thinking they are purchasing a natural product, when in reality,  what they are buying isn't natural at all. Fragrance and synthetic perfumes are also among chemicals that are in EVERYTHING causing so much damage in our overall health.

After a lot of researching and trying different products, I finally found a way to clean my entire house completely non-toxic using products that actually works! Young Living makes the best household cleaning products that are 100% toxin-free and safe for all my family. Here are some of my favorites:

2. thieves household cleaner

Thieves Household Cleaner is the perfect, versatile go-to for all your cleaning needs for a happy, healthy home. No phthalates, parabens, bleach, formaldehyde, or toxic chemicals in these products - just the power of plants! This cleaner includes only plant-based and naturally derived ingredients to effectively clean your home without taking synthetic shortcuts or using potentially harsh ingredients and utilizes refreshing scents of the pure essential oils instead of fragrance. Plus, the concentrated formula of one 14oz bottle makes about 20 16oz spray bottles of all-purpose cleaner which saves you money too! I love using this household staple for everything from general cleaning to tough messes. You can make your own DIY cleaning products according to your cleaning needs.

2. thieves kitchen & bath scrub

Thieves Kitchen and Bath Scrub is the perfect naturally derived cleaner that is tough on messes and safe for your family! You get the power of a surface scrub without all of the harmful chemical smells and residue in conventional options. Thieves Kitchen and Bath Scrub gains its tough scrubbing power from nepheline syenite, a naturally occurring mineral; baking soda that gently absorbs odors; sodium percarbonate that releases oxygen when combined with water, providing a powerful boost of cleaning power against tough stains. I like to use this in all my sinks, bath tubs, and toilets.

3. thieves laundry soap

Thieves Laundry Soap is now my laundry room must haves. Safe, effective, eco-friendly, and economical cleaning with the power of plants! This laundry soap gently and naturally washes your clothes, cleaning them without leaving behind any harsh chemicals or residues. Fabrics come out of the washer clean and with a pleasant citrus aroma, thanks to a 100 percent pure blend of Thieves, Jade Lemon, and Bergamot essential oils! No fragrance, SLS, dyes, petrochemicals, formaldehyde, phosphates, synthetic perfume, and optical brighteners. Plus, you can use this concentrated formula combined with Thieves Holsehold Cleaner and water to make up to 60 loads with just one bottle!

4. Neat steam cleaner

This powerful steam cleaner not only cleans but also sanitizes and deodorizes any surface naturally - with just water! You can use it in all floors, tiles, kitchen appliances, windows, mattresses, upholstery, and even to clean your car interior. It is compact, lightweight, and easy to use. And the best thing is that it is 100% chemical free! For the price, I think it is a great buy and it comes with all the attachments for all the different cleaning functions.

5. baking soda

Baking soda is another powerful ingredient that can be use in so many ways and it is non-toxic. I like to use it to clean grease in the kitchen, unclog kitchen sink, eliminate smell, and also as a laundry booster. It is a staple in my cleaning and laundry closet.

6. distilled white vinegar

The acidic nature of vinegar is so powerful it can dissolve mineral deposit, dirt, grease, grime, and it is also strong enough to kill bacteria. I also like to dissolve vinegar in water and use as a softener for my loads of laundry.

I hope you can give one of these cleaning products a try and start detoxing your home as you clean it. I have a whole list of DIY cleaner recipes using all these products so comment bellow if you want me to share it with you! Happy cleaning!
